More New Gear, Expanding My SkillsIt's been a while since I last wrote a journal entry.
i've been concentrating a lot more on my Blog these days [link] .
Anyway, i've recently purchased myself a Sigma 10-20mm, Speedlite 430EXII, a Canon EOS 30V SLR (film) and a stack of new filters.
I must say that the speedlite is a great investment for anyone shooting anything. Even shooting outdoors in daylight it can produce great results in helping to soften/ lighten shadows from buildings/ trees/ etc without having to risk blowing out highlights to get the correct/ desired exposure.
Also the Film SLR is absolutely brilliant for B+W portraits. I've always struggled to get the same "feel" with digital, and could spend houirs of post-processing and still not be happy with the shot.
So i picked up a bardain, $70, 2 year old EOS 30V (so it's compatible with all my current and future EF lenses and accessories),
loaded up some nice B+W film and couldn't be happier with the results so far.
